Rather than using the bullet’s energy to initiate expansion, like a traditional deforming

concentrates fluid, as well as bone/tissue fragments, and rapidly accelerates them
destroying its surroundings. By using a design that doesn’t rely on expansion, the
XD is able to provide more consistent and predictable performance across a wide
range of situations.
